Moon Lover's Paradise was created in 1999 out of my love for the beautiful story SailorMoon. It's a story of love, adventure, action and romance. I wanted a way to introduce others to this wonderful saga so they might find the same love and enjoyment in it that I have. Five years later, it's still my little labor of love. I've enjoyed many other anime & manga stories, but nothing can take the special place in my heart for Usagi & her friends. While many "serious anime fans" pass off Sailormoon as being a "beginner's" series, there is something about the story that cannot be denied. It is truly a wonderful tale full of charm, humor and love. Most people think I'm crazy when they ask about SailorMoon, and I tell them it is a comic & a cartoon. Their first thoughts envision American cartoons and comics: a goofy, nonsense cartoon and a silly comic book. But SailorMoon was created in Japan, where their anime and manga (animation & comics) produce wonderful and absorbing tales. So please give SailorMoon and other anime/manga a try... you will find stories that you could never have imagined!! ^_^
In this website, I use the Japanese names for the characters and story line. You can find a helpful table showing the English to Japanese names by Clicking Here. I do this because Moon Lover's Paradise refers to the original Japanese story, not the edited English one. There was also a fifth season of Sailormoon which did not make it to the North America. (I've heard that the Japanese company does not want it to be released here) I hope you find this site a great learning experience.
For the record, I am not one of the people who hate the English version of SM... no, no... I despise it!!!! Just kidding. I don't like it very much, because I know what really happened in the scenes, and the changes stick out like a sore thumb. Also it makes me wince to hear Jupiter talk. *shudders* Jupiter has such a feminine & mature voice in the original story!
Also, it bugs me when people say that the original Sailormoon was not intended for children, but for a more mature audience. Guess what... it WAS intended for children! Japan has a different culture, and some of their perceptions are just different than ours.
Finally, if you find any spelling errors on any of my pages, please let me know! Please send me the sentence with the spelling error, along with which page it is on. I try my best to proof read my work, but things still get by me! Thanks!
