Sailormars, the fighter of flames, made her debut in episode 10. We first meet her as Rei Hino (Reh-ee Hee-noh), a young Shinto priestess with beautiful dark hair. Her family name contains the Japanese character for fire, "hi". Rei lives at Hikawa Shrine with her grandfather and attends T*A Private Girls' School. She tends to pick on Usagi about her bad habits -- okay, ALWAYS picks on Usagi. However, deep down she really cares about her friends very much. |  | Rei is very strong spirited and confident. She has numerous talents including singing and performing, among other things. Rei has the ability to perform fire readings and make predictions for the future. She also uses anti-evil signs to get rid of evil presences. She can usually sense trouble before anything happens. |  | At one point, Rei was dating Mamoru. It ended when their past was revealed, and the true love between Usagi and Mamoru was reborn. While she hasn't given away her heart yet, Rei does seem to hold a special place for Yuuichirou. He was a street beggar until he came across Hikawa Shrine. Yuuichirou isntantly fell in love with Rei and began an apprenticeship with Rei's grandfather at the shrine. |  |
 | In episode 10, a bus that stopped near Hikawa Shrine vanished. When Usagi & Luna went to the shrine, Rei felt an evil force and stuck an anti-evil sign on Usagi causing her to pass out. When they were leaving, Luna left a pen which Rei picked up. Later, Usagi & Luna got on a bus at the disappearing stop. Rei was doing a fire reading and discovered that a new shrine worker was the cause. She confronted him, and he forced her into the same place the bus disappeared to. Usagi transformed into Sailormoon. As a youma began attacking Rei, the symbol of Mars appeared on her forehead. Luna told her to use the pen she had left for her and transform into Sailormars. |

 |  |  | Her first attack was the Fire Soul. With this attack Mars shoots flames at the enemy.
| Burning Mandala was acquired while battling Cooan halfway through the R Season. With it, fire rings are shot at the enemy. | Last but not least, when she becomes Super Sailormars in the SuperS Season, Mars uses the awesome Flame Sniper.
