~ Moon Lover's Paradise ~

Usagi Tsukino

Usagi Tsukino's name (Oo-sah-gee Ts-kee-noh) is a play on words that sounds like "Rabbit of the moon" in Japanese. Her first name literally means rabbit. She attends Juuban Junior High School and then is promoted to Juuban High School in the SailorStars season. The first time we see Usagi Tsukino, she is portrayed as a clumsy, lazy, goofy, crybaby school girl who eats like a horse. After a while, however, we see that... well... she is always that way. Nevertheless, Usagi's good qualities outweigh her bad.Usagi pigging out!
She is easily the most likable character of the show. Usagi is such a caring person, it really becomes her most significant characteristic. Her innocence and child-like views win everyone's heart. Usagi will go out of her way - and put herself in danger - for the sake of anyone. She upsets her adversary, Queen Nehelenia, because instead of feeling hatred towards her, Usagi feels pity.Pink tinted headshot of a sweet Usagi
As the story goes on, Usagi truly grows. She starts out as a scared rabbit (hehe), running from battle, but eventually turns into a real leader who faces her enemies as a true hero. Another quality of Usagi is her determination. Once she sets her mind to something, there's no giving up. When the other girls gave up on Mamoru when Beryl brain-washed him, Usagi was persistent that she would get him back.Pretty profile of Usagi looking upward

Sailormoon crying during her first battleUsagi Tsukino is the defender of love and justice, Sailormoon. Sailormoon goes through several stages and transformations. She is the first Senshi to appear, and her first appearance is less than impressive. By herself, Sailormoon is clumsy and terrified of her opponent. When the shock wears off and she receives the help of her new colleagues, she becomes a half decent Sailor Senshi. After a while she begins to show bravery and heroism, and becomes worthy of her role as the leader.
Super SailormoonDuring S season of the show, Sailormoon receives a secondary transformation. After becoming Sailormoon, she is able to transform again into Super Sailormoon. Super Sailormoon is more powerful, giving her the ability to defeat enemies that she could not before. In the SuperS season, she can transform directly into Super Sailormoon.
Eternal SailormoonFinally, in the SailorStars season, Sailormoon becomes Eternal Sailormoon. At first she could only do this when the other senshi concentrated on her, but soon she can do it on her own. As Eternal Sailormoon she has wings and her tiara is replaced with the moon symbol on her forehead (like when she's Princess Serenity).

Halfway through the first season, the silver crystal appears, transforming Usagi into the princess they had been searching for, Princess Serenity.

Through out the rest of the saga, Sailormoon will turn into Princess Serenity and use the silver crystal at desperate points when the Senshi need more power. Serenity is given wings in the final episode of the SuperS season, and has them again in the last episode of SailorStars.

In the second season, Pretty Soldier Sailormoon R, Sailormoon finds out that in the 30th century she will become Neo Queen Serenity, Queen of Crystal Tokyo.
