Hotaru Tomoe (Hoh-tah-roo Toh-moh-eh) attends Mugen Academy. Her father is Professor Tomoe, a scientist. She no longer has a mother. Hotaru is physically weak. She runs out of breath easily and becomes faint. Hotaru is also a very sweet & kind girl. She probably wouldn't even hurt a fly. She will also stand up for what she believes in. |  | Despite being sickly herself, she has an amazing healing ability. With the touch of her hand, she can heal the wounds of others. However, because of this ability, she is an outcast among her classmates. She is thought of as weird, so she has no friends. This changes once she meets Chibi Usa. Hotaru heals a scrape on Chibi Usa's knee, and Chibi Usa thinks it's wonderful. After that, the two girls quickly become good friends. |  | Unfortunately, it turns out that Hotaru's body holds two spirits: Hotaru's, and that of Mistress Nine. Near the end of the S season, as "the Silence" approaches closer, Mistress Nine takes over. Mistress Nine will call upon Pharoah Ninety to lead the world to Silence. The outer senshi want to destroy her, but Sailormoon is determined to save the world with out sacrificing Hotaru. She eventually wins the battle... and Sailorsaturn awakens. |  | Sailorsaturn thanked Sailormoon and says she (Saturn) has to destroy Pharoah Ninety. Sailormoon eventually powers up and jumps into the portal after Saturn. However, when Sailormoon emerges, she is carrying a baby Hotaru in her arms. Hotaru is given back to her father briefly, but a new war in the Stars season causes the outer senshi to take Hotaru & raise her themselves. Hotaru grows quickly... she gives the outer senshi their super powers while only an infant, yet in the next minute she is a child. Shortly after, the spirit of Saturn awakens again, returning Hotaru to her S Season age. |  |
 | Sailorsaturn... the soldier of destruction. Saturn is the most powerful of Sailormoon's followers. She holds the power of death, however, it's a double-edged blade. Once that power is used, she too is destroyed. So it is quite surprising that this emense persona is also Hotaru Tomoe, a fragile and kind young girl. |  | Sailorsaturn, much like Sailorpluto, is very mysterious and is only seen when there is something terribly wrong. She also has cool background music! Hehe. At first her awakening was feared, because the outer senshi believed when Saturn was reborn the world would be destroyed. Saturn has a glaive which she uses for her attack. |  | Saturn actually has two attacks. Neither are ever shown, however. The first is the Death Reborn Revolution. It has the ablity to destroy whole worlds. There is also the Silence Glaive Surprise, which still has the ablitiy to destroy, but instead of destroying a whole world she can focus it on a single person. These attacks are two sided... if used, she will be destroyed as well. She once tried to use the Silence Glaive Surprise to destroy Nehelenia, but Chibimoon stopped her because she didn't want Saturn to die. |  | Saturn also has a defense which she uses often. With the Silent Wall, she creates a shield which deflects attacks by the enemy. |
