No, this is not anime style at all; In fact it's Disney's Pocahontas. As you can tell from my other pictures, I normally don't make things like this. This exception was a special Christmas present to my father. You see, ever since the movie came out (waaaay back in '95), he always said to me "I want you to draw me a picture of this scene!". However, I never did sit down to make it. At one time I had paused it on video tape and thought "My gosh, I can't do that!" as I realized the illusion was made with multiple brush stokes that flashed on the screen sporadically... there was no way to simply pause on a frame and copy it while still retaining the beauty of the, er... "colors of the wind" (yes, sorry, bad joke). Anyway, while trying to think of a Christmas gift for my dad, I recalled the Pocahontas request and I thought "Heck, surely I can master that now!". WHOOPS. Got a little cocky there, and as I paused the DVD I looked at this mish-mosh of colors and thought "oh yeah." Me with my little color pencils, trying to imitate this painted masterpiece of brushstokes, yeah right. But I had decided to do it no matter what, so I tried to figure out how to make it work. I ended up looking at about 3 different frames and combining them into one picture so that it would look the way I wanted it to. The end result is below! Still not a good as I think it could have been, but my dad loved it and that's all that counts!
